Former Greenbay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has made headlines in recent months for his controversial comments on social media, including ones related to Jeffrey Epstein.
Most recently, Rodgers went viral for comments he made in an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson on conspiracies, aliens, and religion.
Tucker Interview
In the over two-hour interview with Carlson, Rodgers expressed his opinions on a range of topics in a cordial conversation where both men laughed throughout.
“Would you be shocked to learn that Jeffrey Epstein didn’t kill himself?,” said Carlson which drew laughter from both of them.
Growing Up in Church
During the interview, Rodgers talked about how he is used to observing forces battling in an unseen world and how it has shaped his views on conspiracies, aliens, religion, and the supernatural.
“I grew up in the church, and in the church, you know that there’s a battle that’s going on between the seen and the unseen world, between good and evil, between the powers that we can see and the powers that we can’t see,” said Rodgers.
Government Secrets
Rodgers went on to speculate about all the wild things that people don’t know about, and his rationale for believing in the possibility of alien life.
“And there’s some wild things out there that we don’t know about. And there’s some government secrets we don’t know about. At a bare minimum, whether you believe in alien life, UFOs, UAPs, whatever you want to call it, there’s some technology out there that exists that’s finally have some disclosure that the government or the powers that be don’t I think we’re ready to be given that information, which is wild,” Rodgers said to Carlson.
Changing Religious Views
Given his own views, Rodgers asserts that thinking this way is going to change the way people are able to look at life and religion.
“The thought process is it’s going to change the way that we look at life or religion or whatever,” Rodgers said.
Religious Control
In a clip that was seized on by some on social media, Rodgers talks about the need to discuss the idea that religion is actually a way to control people’s thoughts.
“That gets in the whole other idea about religion being as a way to control people, control thought maybe, which is pretty wild. But disclosure, I think needs to happen. It’s going to be interesting to see how it happens, where it happens,” said Rodgers.
Response to Comments
Rodger’s Tucker Carlson interview was met with praise on the social media platform X where it was posted. It received nearly 13 million views and had over 50,000 likes.
In response to a Wisconsin Sports Heroics story about Rodgers’s comments on religion, one X user wrote “I can’t believe I’m agreeing with Aaron Rodgers on something. He said religion is used to manipulate people.”
Winning People Over
Tucker’s audience members enjoyed seeing the two together despite some having misgivings about Rodgers. “I hate how Aaron Rodgers made me like him. Respect. He’s a real one,” said X user Ashton Forbes.
“Same here Ashton and I’m a Bears fan…he’s been breaking my heart for over a decade but can’t help but love the guy,” said another X user.
National Treasure
Others compared Rodgers favorably to Carlson, emphasizing that both are acting as prominent figures fighting establishment narratives.
“Aaron Rodgers is a patriot and national treasure just like Tucker Carlson. Both men push hard against the Establishment and refuse to bend a knee to the woke mob. It’s great to see them together sharing their positive vision for America,” said X User Paul Szypula.
Highly Intelligent
The conversation between the two men gave people a good impression of Rodger’s ability to speak and express ideas.
“It won’t take you long to realize why Aaron remembers every game, every play, and everyone’s assignment throughout his entire career, including college. This is a highly intelligent man,” said Noami Jakins in the X thread.
Previous Comments
Rodgers has previously commented on religion in a public way. In 2020, Rodgers created controversy after criticizing the concept of Hell found in some religions.
“I don’t know how you can believe in a God who wants to condemn most of the planet to a fiery Hell. Like, what type of loving, sensitive, omnipresent, omnipotent being wants to condemn most of His beautiful creation to a fiery Hell at the end of all this?” Rodgers said.
Religion Dividing People
Rodgers expressed at the time a dissatisfaction with “binary systems” inherent in religion that drive people apart and create division.
“Religion can be a crutch. [It] can be something people have to have to make themselves feel better,” said Rodgers. “It’s us and them. It’s saved and unsaved. It’s Heaven and Hell. It’s enlightened and heathen. It’s holy and righteous, and sinner and filthy.”
